Shanghai Chat

I haven’t blogged on here so much recently as have been working on setting up The Kiss Klimt, another of my many Art blogs. The idea is to make some money from ads and click throughs in the future if the blog proves popular.

Ruby is away this weekend for once, and not visiting me in Shanghai. She is off to work for her company, CFA Tools, at an exhibition in Guangzhou, South China. It is the first time she has flown in three years, so should be quite fun for her though i expect she will be working very hard, as usual.

I took this Friday so will have three full days to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet :-) There’s some cricket to watch, work to do, and no doubt some beer in the fridge too. My Chinese lessons are now up to twice a week so i expect i’ll have some homework to go through as well. I’m only going to try to learn some basic stuff which can be useful whilst i am over here.

Last week i joined some friends of mine for a “Slovakian Breakfast” which involved Salami, Cheese, Bread and afterwards a wide variety of different strong drinks, such as Saki, some sort of Vodka, and beer. I shall add some photos from this party when i get my camera back from Ruby. It was a lot of fun, and we returned home in the evening to have dinner with the landlord, who i owed 3 months rent (It’s not as bad as it sounds! I pay in instalments of 3 months at a time). Jacques, the landlord, is a good bloke and always helps me out when i ask. Landlords here don’t seem quite as untrustworthy as they commonly are in UK as reputation holds more importance here. I gave him some of my favourite Chilean wine and sent him on his way.

  1. It is a good info.

  2. Good luck with your The Kiss Klimt blog! I checked it out, looks really good. I love Gustav Klimt too, and many of his paintings are amongst the best in the world. The Kiss, Beethoven, Judith, Water Serpents and others truly are worldclass paintings, and makes him such a popuar artist!! Check my blog if you like, for all the most famous Gustav Klimt paintings.
